The Joyful Wheel has been sharing spinning, workshops, teaching, and storytelling from the wheel across two continents since 2003.
You can find us in Scotland, England & United States.
Easy to learn, relaxing, ancient craft technique. Workshops include everything you need to spin and a kit for you to keep.

Join us for a fun and easy 2.5 hour hands on workshop where you will learn how to spin wool and other plant fibers with a drop Spindle. No spinning wheel required.
Everything you need to learn how to spin is included in this class and your spinning kit is yours to keep and take home so you can continue to spin.
Class will cover :
Hand spinning is a relaxing and enjoyable way to create something special. It is also terrific for self sufficiency and creating textile handicrafts from scratch.
Perhaps you have always wanted to learn to spin but did not have the hundreds of dollars for a wheel or the space on your home to put it. Everything you need to spin a variety of lovely threads and yarns will fit in a shoebox and costs very little to get started.
Join us at the next hand spinning workshop to learn this exciting heritage craft skill !
*Covid-19 safety measures will be observed. Class limited to 10 people.
Because this class will be fast paced and covers allot of material it is not suitable for young children to accompany a participant. Recommended for learners ages 12 and up, participants under 18 must be accompanied by a paid adult participant in the workshop.
Hands on workshop is $50 per person and includes a complete spinning kit that is yours to keep.
Spinning kit contains a wooden drop spindle, fibers to spin, and an instruction sheet with directions and tips.
Additional fibers and spindles are available to purchase at the workshop or from many places who specialize in spinning.
